VTest for Schools: Revised Exams Available from September 2026

VTest is pleased to announce revised VTest for Schools Ages 7–10 and 11–15 exams from September 2026.

The revised exams build on the strengths of the current VTest for Schools suite, improving the testing experience, supporting teachers, and providing schools with meaningful information about learners’ progress.

Why are the exams changing?

Language learning, teaching, and assessment continue to evolve. To keep our exams relevant, we regularly review exam content, formats, platform experience, and support materials.

The revised exams reflect:

  • feedback from teachers, schools, candidates, parents, and test centers
  • extensive piloting in schools worldwide
  • our commitment to CEFR-aligned, research-informed assessment
  • the need for motivating, age-appropriate, practical exams

What is changing?

From September 2026, the revised exams will include:

Updated exam activities and task formats

Activities have been refreshed to make them clearer, more engaging, and better suited to young learners. Some task types and number of tasks have been revised to improve the exam experience.

Improved digital platform experience

The VTest platform has been updated to provide an even smoother, more user-friendly experience for candidates, schools, and test centers.

More support and preparation resources

Teachers and schools will have access to updated teaching materials, preparation resources, and guidance to help learners prepare for the revised exams.

Dedicated support for test centers

Approved test centers will receive support and guidance to help them prepare for and administer the revised exams confidently.

Customizable teacher training

Through the VTest Teacher Academy, schools and partners will be able to access customizable teacher training to support exam preparation and classroom use of VTest for Schools.

What is remaining the same?

The core principles behind VTest for Schools remain unchanged.

VTest will continue to focus on:

  • alignment with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
  • quality, fairness, and reliability in assessment
  • data-driven exam development and review
  • meaningful results that support informed decisions
  • ensuring teachers and learners can measure progress and set learning goals

We believe that exams can do more than measure performance. They can support learning, guide teaching, and help learners understand their next steps.

When will the revised exams be available?

The revised VTest for Schools Ages 7–10 and 11–15 exams will be available from September 2026.

More information about the revised formats, sample tasks, preparation materials, and support for schools and test centers will be shared in the coming months.
